Install
Download LocalePro from your account and upload it in WordPress.
You’ll need the email from your purchase, and a WordPress site you can add plugins to.
What the site needs
- WordPress 7.0 or newer.
- PHP 8.1 or newer.
- A DeepL or Google account. Nothing translates until one is connected.
The first time a sentence is translated, it goes to DeepL or Google, then it’s saved. Later visits come from your site. Use Tools → Pretranslate if you don’t want the first person to wait. See Translate a site.
Download the plugin
- Open the account page.
- Enter the email you used when you bought LocalePro. We send a sign-in link that lasts 15 minutes.
- Download the plugin.
The download is on your account page, not on a public list.
Upload it in WordPress
- In WordPress, go to Plugins → Add Plugin → Upload Plugin.
- Choose the file you downloaded and install it.
- Activate LocalePro.
Then add your key so the site can receive updates, and connect DeepL or Google. Translation waits on that second step.
Updates
Once your key is saved, new versions show up on the Plugins screen, the same way other plugins do. WordPress only offers the version we’ve published for everyone.
