DeepL

Your DeepL account. Your WordPress site.

LocalePro sits between WordPress and DeepL. You pay DeepL for new text. You pay us a yearly price for the plugin.

A lot of “DeepL for WordPress” tools either drop a translate box on the page, or wrap DeepL in a monthly plan that grows with traffic. LocalePro does neither. You create a key on DeepL's own site, paste it under Settings → Connectors, and the plugin sends only sentences it has never seen.

The first visitor to a new sentence is the one that reaches DeepL. After that, the translation is served from your site. If you cancel LocalePro, translation keeps working. You stop getting plugin updates.

Prices and brand names are where automatic translation usually stumbles. LocalePro leaves prices alone, and you can list names that must stay spelled as you wrote them.

Setup notes live intranslation service docsandhow to get an API key. Google Cloud Translation isdocumented the same way.

Questions

Is LocalePro a DeepL plugin?+

It's a WordPress plugin that can use DeepL to translate. You create the DeepL key. LocalePro uses it, saves the result, and doesn't resell DeepL credits.

Can I use Google Cloud Translation instead?+

Yes. Connect either one, or both. See the Google page if that's the account you already have.

Does a DeepL box appear on my site?+

No. Visitors get a normal page on your site. DeepL only sees new sentences, the first time.
